Quick decisions and optional measurement
Quick calculator inputs stay in the page until you choose to save a local snapshot or export/share them. One snapshot is kept on your device for up to 30 days and removed on a later visit after expiry; use “Delete saved snapshot” or clear site data to remove it now. PDF downloads and email drafts contain your numbers; recipients and your email provider can see what you share.
Usage measurement is off by default. If you opt in, we send only an event name, a decision category and a random browser ID to our server. We do not include financial values, emails, account IDs, query strings or saved reports. The ID expires after 90 days. Event retention is limited to 90 days by the retention cleanup; infrastructure request logs may include IP addresses. Use the measurement control to withdraw consent and delete the local ID.
Founder and session inquiries store your email and the offer you requested in our private waitlist. These forms do not charge you or subscribe you to unrelated marketing. Contact support to withdraw the request or delete it. Manual planning requires no bank connection; Plaid data is processed only if bank linking is enabled and you choose it.
What we collect
Path & Penny stores the information you provide to build projections and scenarios, such as profile details, income, expenses, assets, liabilities, connected financial account metadata, and scenario inputs.
How we use it
We use your data to authenticate you, sync your account, generate financial projections, power scenario comparisons, and improve product reliability. We do not sell your personal financial data.
Third-party services
Path & Penny uses third-party infrastructure providers such as Supabase for authentication and data storage, and Plaid when you choose to connect financial accounts. Those providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Vehicle selection uses public EPA and NHTSA catalogs. Optional car price lookups send your selected vehicle details and state to Vehicles.dev. Housing lookups send your ZIP code to Census Reporter. Your income, savings, bank data and comparison budget are not sent with these requests. Housing and vehicle catalogs may be cached for seven days; car listing responses for one hour. These lookups do not save your ZIP, state or car selection to your account; infrastructure providers may keep request logs.
Data retention and deletion
You can export your profile and alternative plans from Settings. Account deletion removes your financial records and sign-in identity. If deletion is unavailable, no data is removed; contact support so we can complete the request at the authentication layer as well.
